The Global Head of Digital and Retail Marketing & Insights at Standard Chartered, Sam Ahmed, has moved on from the bank. The Bank has confirmed his departure stating that he will be pursuing new opportunities.
Sam Ahmed took over the assignment in April 2017, and was based in Singapore. He was reporting to Emma Sheller, Global Head, Brand and Marketing. Prior to Ahmed’s appointment with the bank, the Global Digital role at the bank was headed Damien Cummings.
Previously, Ahmed had been with Mastercard since 2013. He held the dual role of CMO and Senior Vice President of Marketing in Asia Pacific. He was responsible for managing the region’s marketing and marketing team of over 80 staff to drive double digit revenue growth in areas such as Consumer, Advertising, Digital, Insights, Sponsorships, Branding, e-Commerce, Product communications, B2B Marketing and Agency Management.
Standard Chartered Bank recently appointed Mohit Gupta as the Global Head of Retail Bank Marketing, under the wealth solutions and priority-banking department. He will be based in Singapore for his role.
