Mumbai: Independent agency CLA and Rana Barua have decided to part ways, The company issued the following official statement post the annual board review.
“Following the board review last month, we arrived at a decision to part ways. It was great to have him here and we thank him for the time he has invested at Creativeland. Rana remains a lovely friend and we wish him the best in his future endeavours.” said Founder and Creative Chairman Sajan Raj Kurup.
Kurup who has driven the place from a 4 people on a dining table to a 183 people strong team across multiple offices takes on the reigns now and will drive the growth and diversification plans hands-on along with CLA’s long term financial consultant turned full time CFO, Venkat Balasubramanian, Ventureland CEO, Srijib Mallik and a strong team of business leaders.
CLA has been on a strong growth trajectory with forays into long format content through Creativeland Pictures and the launch of its venture capital arm Ventureland Asia. CLA has also been instrumental consistently picking up strong advertising mandates over the last few years. Last year also saw the launch of Baaash digital from the CLA stable which picked up Pizza Hut, Luxor, Parker, Cinthol, Aer, Protekt and Taj Group among others.
Commenting on the move Rana Barua said, “After strong stints in advertising and communications, I have decided to take some time out to pursue newer interests. It’s been a short yet wonderful experience working with the talented and audacious bunch at CLA. I wish Raj and the CLA team the very best for a fabulous future.”
