Indian journalist Mitali Mukherjee has been appointed as the new Director of Journalist Programmes at Reuters Institute. In her new role she will oversee the Journalist Fellowship Programme and many other initiatives. Mitali will report to Director Rasmus Nielsen and will be part of senior management team. She will be taking up her post effective 1st September.
She mentioned about her new appointment in her twitter post, The post read “So very excited to join the amazing team at The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. Mukherjee is a renowned business journalist with a rich experience of over two decades in TV, print and digital journalism. She has handled a wide range of roles-from political, global & local economic reportage, to live conferences. She has been Consulting Business Editor at The Wire and Mint. Prior to that she was Markets and News Editor at CNBC TV 18 and Prime Time Anchor at TV Today and Doordarshan.
Mukherjee is a gold medalist in Television Journalism from IIMC, Delhi and a gold medalist in Political Science. She’s also a TEDx speaker, Raisina Young Fellow and AIYD Alumna and Steering Committee member.
