New Delhi: The country’s premier radio conference comes to you in a new virtual format, announcing Re-Invent 2020 – The Power of Audio; the 15th edition of The India Radio Forum Virtual 2020 on 6th November 2020.
Technology is rapidly changing the way we consume media; the trend is very obvious with how TV channels and programme viewing has now completely changed with the OTT platforms coming in. Similarly, the FM Radio industry is also going through a transformation given audible entertainment, brand formats, luxury earphone products and the rise of devices like Amazon Echo, Google Home, and Apple Home Pod, the ears are becoming a key gateway to audiences and changing their listening preferences.
The given state of how the pandemic has affected the consumption habits of people in many ways. The time that people spend consuming media, the generally accepted consumption habits etc. have all been readjusted. Audio too has seen a shift, while pre-pandemic trends had already suggested there was rapid growth in podcast consumption and other audio formats, the events over the last few months have been a catalyst of sorts to accelerate these trends. Publishers, ad-tech and brands are all poised to leverage this. In India, we are defining our own path on how this transpires.
This year’s India Radio Forum’s half day session highlights Digital Audio – A path to leverage the global uptick in audio consumption
This conversation brings together some of the biggest and best of digital audio buying, publishers, brands and technology to discuss and define how we shape this future while we discuss;
- What brands and buyers of digital audio expect?
- How publishers see their content monetized?
- The potential and limits of digital audio advertising?
Sponsored by Triton Digital, the panel will be led by Abe Thomas, CEO BIG FM and will include eminent panelists like Lloyd Mathias, Business strategist, Sreeraman Thiagarajan – CEO Aawaz.com, Vipul Bathwal VP – Monetization Products at Gaana, Rita Sahajpaul – National Head of Product and Marketing Science, Xaxis India and LV Krishnan – CEO of TAM Media Research amongst others.
Speaking about the event, Rajika Mittra, Country Head and Strategic Partnerships for the India Radio Forum said “The growth of the Radio industry in India has been phenomenal to say the least with over a 100 million radio listeners but the reach of the internet is even faster with 176 million users. While radio reaches out to all corners of the country, the internet access in terms of mobile handsets reaches a far wider audience who can be connected from anywhere all the time! Infact, time spent listening to any kind of online audio content is at a record high and keeping this in mind, Re-invent 2020 – The Power of Audio will focus on how FM stations are undergoing a transformation and plans to co-exist with audible entertainment”.
Conference Chair & CEO of Reliance Broadcast Network Abe Thomas said “If the last few years were about touch, the coming times are about the magic of audio from interactive smart devices to the internet of things. As consumers discover the magic of audio from music to talk, from unscripted podcasts to scripted podcasts to audio dramas and audio books, how are engagement metrics to programmatic buying evolving in the exciting world of audio.”
