Mumbai : Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd (RBNL), has rebranded its comedy TV Channel Big Magic with a new look and identity along with fresh contents.
The channel which targets the male audience of age group of over 15 would add new comedy episodes in sitcom, on-fiction space, focused on building iconic characters which are standout, quirky and funny.
“Our clear objective is to make viewers laugh out loud and build iconic characters in the comedy space. With original content targeted at metros and non-metros, both long and short formats, BIG Magic is focused to provide nothing but unique and edgy comedy through its content to make people laugh out loud,” said RBNL CEO Tarun Katial.
The channel, launched last year, would be helped by its fresh, contemporary, quirky positioning in amplifying its overall outlook, he added.
Apart from that, RBNL is beaming another channel Big Magic Ganga for Bihar and Jharkhand region.
“We are having around 60 per cent viewership there… Big Magic Ganga would break even by the end of this year,” Katial said.
On being asked whether RBNL has any plans to bring other regional/vernacular channels he said:” We are evaluating it. We have not decided on it till now”.
Moreover, RBNL’s leading radio FM station Big FM is also planning to add up to 12 more stations in its existing network of 45.
“Big FM is doing great and had a EBITDA profit of Rs 80 crore last year. We are planning to add 10 to 12 new radio stations,” Katial said.
The company is waiting for the outcome of the FM radio auctions.
