Hyderabad : The Mega budgeted fiction show launched by Telugu Satellite channel Maa TV on 20th October in its 7:30 to 8 PM time band, has opened up with good numbers to cheer the channel’s programming team for its strategy to make such a grand mega project with huge spending to create strong fiction line-up.
Ramulamma’s opening week ratings from 20th October to 24th October average 5 TVR in Fe 15+ABC and 3.9 in TVR MF4+. In fact the overall average witnessed a dip due to a meagre rating of .99 and 1.47 on Diwali day of 23rd October due the telecast of Telugu Movie “Race Gurram” on Gemini TV. Ramulamma’s average without Diwali day episode stands at 6 TVR in Fe 15+ ABC and 4.5 TVR in MF4+ TG, which is considered as a strong opening for any fiction show in the current scenario.
Earlier, Zee Telugu’s “Rama Seetha” launched on 25th August in its 8PM time slot opened with the 1st week ratings of 5.8 TVR in Female TG and 5.5 TVR in Male TG. This also proves that the opening potential of Maa TV has improved significantly and this will pave a way for better opening numbers in the future launches.
Maa TV’s efforts to bring in original content in place of dubbed content in a phased manner has reached next level with the strong opening of “Ramulamma” as the program has positioned at straight No.2, next to “Chinnari Pellikoothuru”, ahead of its existing properties like “Sitamalaksmi”. “Sashirekha Parinayam” and “Astha Chemma”
Once up on a time Gemini TV had a potential of opening with 15 TVR that has dwindled over a period of time and right now it is capable of opening with 2 TVR only. ETV on the other hand seems never worried about their opening numbers as they hardly replace their fiction properties irrespective of its performance.
Maa TV sources also confirm that they are preparing for the launch of another mega fiction project shortly that might fall in line with MEK 2, in-order to make a formidably strong programming line-up.
