Mumbai: India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has appointed Rajesh Rana as its Director (Commercial & Marketing). He officially assumed charge on March 17, joining ITDC’s Board of Directors to lead its commercial and marketing strategies.
With a distinguished 26-year career in the hospitality and tourism industry, Rana brings extensive expertise in catering, tourism, marketing, and business operations. He began his journey as a Management Trainee with Jaypee Group of Hotels, later moving to THDC India Limited, a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), before making a significant impact at IRCTC.
During his 19-year tenure at IRCTC, Rana held multiple key leadership positions across Regional, Zonal, and Corporate Offices, rising through the ranks as Deputy General Manager, Joint General Manager, Additional General Manager, and General Manager. His expertise spans catering, tourism, operations, administration, marketing, product development, and management.
Rana has been instrumental in shaping IRCTC’s hospitality and tourism initiatives, driving business growth and operational efficiency. Before joining ITDC, he served as General Manager at IRCTC’s Corporate Office in New Delhi while also holding the critical position of Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
An alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Lucknow, Rana also holds an MBA in Marketing, equipping him with a strong strategic vision to lead ITDC’s commercial and marketing operations.
As Director (Commercial & Marketing), ITDC, he will play a pivotal role in enhancing ITDC’s brand presence, driving tourism initiatives, and strengthening the corporation’s commercial strategy in alignment with India’s growing tourism sector.
