Chennai : The leading South Indian satellite Network, Raj Television Group has changed its Satellite from 1st December,2014 onwards with Chinasat-12 of 36 MHz of full transponder for the purpose of betterment in quality and need for additional bandwidth for their future expansion plans.
The channel has successfully moved from Asiasat-5 to Chinasat-12 with a well charted migration plan that involves “Dual illumination” where by the signals of Raj TV Group channels are beamed in both the satellite Asiasat-5 and Chinasat-12, that helps the Cable and DTH operators to tune in to the new frequencies simultaneously without affecting the visibility of channels to the audience.
Raj TV Network has a bouquet of 13 channels, which includes GEC, Movie, News and Music genre channels in various South Indian and Hindi language.
Sources from Raj TV Network confirmed that the migration from Asiasat-5 to Chinasat-12 is due to the need of additional bandwidth for their future expansion as the South media giant is planning to launch three new channels – Raj Kids – a new Kids channel in Tamil, Raj Bhakthi – a new devotional channel in Tamil and Raj Comedy – a new Comedy channel in Tamil.
The new satellite Chinasat-12 is owned by the government of China that has better scope of availing additional bandwidth in future and this supports Raj TV Network’s expansion ambitions.
