Mumbai: Radio Nasha is India’s first cool retro station that does justice to the excitement, romance and attitude of the magical eras of 1970s to early 2000s. The station was launched in Delhi and Mumbai in 2016. It is the destination station for the Millennials and Gen X that is packed with passion, fueled by Bollywood celebrities and driven by RJs with a style that is timeless & classy yet energetic.
Radio Nasha launched a unique and never before done show ‘Aaj Ki Retro News’ with RJ G9 Divya Solgama few months back! As part of the segment, the RJ shares old rare magazines LIVE with the listeners ranging from the 1960s till early 2000s. What makes this segment special is the fact that more than 50% of these magazines are extremely rare without any hard copies or online editions available.
The show recently completed its 200th episode. To mark the occasion, National Awards winning Director Madhur Bhandarkar featured on the show for an interesting conversation filled with nostalgia! Madhur was extremely surprised and delighted with the rarest of rare magazine collection and the trivia’s shared by G9. G9 is a die-hard film buff & film historian who proudly owns a personal collection of around 6000-7000 Hindi films dating as back as 1913. Along with these movies there are many unreleased films, unreleased songs, regional songs and more than 3000 old film magazines that are his prized possessions.
Aaj Ki Retro News has featured 700-800 magazines till date with loads of trivia’s attached to them. There were special editions shared on top celeb birthdays, birth anniversaries, film anniversaries etc. Some of these special segments were featured on the birthdays of Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Raveena Tandon, Tabu, Madhuri Dixit and many more!
