Kochi : Malayala Manorama’s Malayalam radio station Radio Mango’s much lauded ‘song-distance campaign’ is back with innovative LED hoarding all around the city that helps the commuters calculate the time they would need to arrive at a particular location.
The scorching heat of the sun when we are caught in the buzzing traffic does not spare us at all, even a few seconds of the traffic signal countdown seems like an era while waiting under the sun, the only way we relax ourselves in the songs that we listen to keep us calm. Striking the right chord, Radio Mango has installed innovative LED boards in the cities of Kochi, Kozhikode and Kannur, that will tell the commuters the exact distance between the prime locations in number of songs, with the help of microcomputers that check for traffic density after accessing Google Maps. The calculations are done in real-time. The same hoarding that told you that it would take two songs before you reach the biggest mall in South Asia will now in the evening tell you that it’s going to take five. These boards are installed at Athani, near Ernakulam North overbridge, Vytilla and Thopumpadi in Kochi
With this one-of-a-kind use of technology, Radio Mango ‘song-distance campaign’ has created waves across the city
