Chennai: Tamil Infotainment Channel Puthiyathalaimurai TV has hiked its ad rates to a historic high on polling day and counting day of TN elections 2016. The channel has priced it at Rs 25000 per 10 seconds spot against the average selling rate of Rs 2,000 per 10 seconds.
The hike that is 12 times higher than its average selling rate is a new record in the regional news space, which is mainly due to the huge expectations and unpredictable scenario prevailing in Tamil Nadu and subsequent relativity in increase of viewership to the channel.
Puthiyathalaimurai is witnessing a constant surge in viewership for the past couple of weeks, ever since, the election fever struck Tami Nadu. The Channel and market sources reveal that many national and retail brands signed up for the same without much ado on the rates as they felt that the channel will create enough buzz on those days thus making it a Value for Money (VFM) spend.
Tamil Nadu goes for polling on 16th May and the counting of votes will be taking place on 19th May.
The Channel has been broadcasting programmes on elections 2016 such as Round Table Conference, PT with people, With the leader, 18+, Voice of the common man, Agni Partichai, Parties Questions etc…
