Mumbai: &Privé HD, the premium destination for nuanced cinema, is all set to premiere the drama, Mr. Pip, on Saturday, 16th of June at 1:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Directed by Andrew Adamson, the movie is based on Lloyd Jones’ novel, Mister Pip,and stars Hugh Laurie and Xzannjah Matsi in pivotal roles.
Mr. Pip follows the story of Mr. Watts (Laurie) who is the only white man left on the island after the blockade. He opens a school and introduces the children to the famous novel ‘Great Expectations.’ Matilda (Matsi), the teenage narrator, finds comfort in the story of the Victorian orphan when her own world is falling apart. Matilda immerses herself in an imaginary world which fuses the Victorian London of ‘Great Expectations’ with the environment and people she knows. When the Redskins, an army sent to destroy the local rebels get closer, she writes ‘Pip’ in the sand. This simple act leads to terrible consequences when the Redskins Suspect Pip to be a rebel leader and demand he be brought before them.
