Mumbai: Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has launched, Porus, the global series coming out of India on 27th November 2017 in its 8:30 PM band. The show was one of the most expected high value production series in the Indian Television Market, which was a new kind of initiative for the channel and also the writer, director and producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary as he is retaining the IPR of the show for global exploitation.
Sony Entertainment Television was trying hard to retain the audience of KBC with a strong replacement and the channel opted for Porus, the series that was based on the untold story of the greatest conqueror of the world, Alexander and the most spirited defender of India, Porus, set in 350 BC.
The recent Study conducted by Primary data analysis firm Chrome DM has revealed the fact that Sony Entertainment Television has accomplished the preliminary task of the mission Porus by ensuring maximum reach with a successful launch campaign as 61% of the respondents of the study were aware of the Promo of Porus and 82% of them were able to recall that the show is being aired on Sony Entertainment Television.
The study also revealed that 42% of the respondents said that promos got them interested in the show and they were waiting for the launch of Porus.
The Promos also managed to trigger the curiosity level of the show as 31% of the respondents were curious and wanted to know more about “Porus”, while 24% of the respondents said that the extraordinary audio and visual effects of the show would be the driving factor for its success.
In terms of Ranking the Promos of Porus, Majority of them voted positively with 47% of them offering 5 out of 5 points while 94% of them offered above 3+ points.
The study was conducted among 1373 respondents with male female ratio of 53:47 with majority falling under the age group of 18 to 44 years (68%)
The study also revealed some interesting facts as following:
- Only 19% of the respondents know about the story of Porus and Alexander with 56% of them having heard about Alexander with only 23% were aware of the Indian King Porus.
- 83% of the viewers watch complete season of Historical shows
- 61% revealed that Factors such as Unnecessary deviation of storyline as the main season for discontinuation of watching the shows.
The histrocial story Jhansi Ki rani aired on Zee TV commanded the maximum awareness of story before viewing it on TV with 69% in awareness index followed by Jodha Akbar with 59%, Chanakya at 47% and Chakravartin Ashok Samrat garnering 43% in awareness index.
