Chennai: J Sekar the CEO of Polimer TV has quit the channel with a very short stint that started during early 2014. Prior to joining Polimer TV shekar was working as COO of Hyderabad based Telugu Satellite Network Maa TV for a brief period of 5 years.
Shekar had also been with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd for more than a decade. He had started out with the Zee Group as Regional Director for CitiCable Network, taking care of distribution. He then moved to Alpha Telugu (now called Zee Telugu), where he headed sales for Zee Tamil, Zee Telugu and Zee Kannada. For the past two years, he has been the Business Head for Zee Kannada.
Market sources states that Murali Raman who had quit Radaan Media Works as CEO by the end of October has joined back Polimer TV for his second innings and this coincides with the exit of Shekar from the channel.
While tvnews4u.com is not sure about the future plan of J Shekar, his exit from the Tamil satellite channel that purely runs with the lifeline of Hindi serials dubbed in Tamil, stands as another example of professionals being able to survive the channel for not more than six months.
J Shekar to his credit has the distinction of turning around the fortune of channels like Zee Kannada and Maa TV during his helm of affairs with respective channels.
