According to the data revealed in the joint report by BARC India and Nielsen titled TV+ Smartphone Consumption Report during crises, the PM’s address to the nation on 14th April 2020 announcing the Lockdown extension garnered a whopping 4 BN Viewing minutes.
This address has seen the highest number of viewing minutes. The previous video message where PM announced the #9PM9Minute initiative garnered 1.2 BN minutes.
The lockdown extension announcement was telecasted by 199 TV channels across the country with 203 MN people glued onto their TV sets. These are staggering numbers for a telecast at 10 AM in the morning.
