FMCG behemoth Procter & Gamble India has joined hands with e-Com major Flipkart to launch ‘Forests For Good’ in India, through which the two companies have planted four forests in Karnataka.
Consumers can e-adopt each of the 4,000 trees planted by buying P&G products from Flipkart between June 26 and 29, 2023.
EcoMatcher and SayTrees are social enterprise and technology partners for the initiative. Equipped with blockchain technology to ensure traceability, the intent is to offer full transparency with tree-planting projects, allowing everyone to view their tree, when it was planted, name the tree, track its locations and maturity, as well as CO2 sequestered, informed an official statement.

Among other initiatives, P&G installed rainwater harvesting (RWH) infrastructure at P&G Shiksha supported schools across nine cities. Its key sustainability targets include achieving plastic waste neutrality by recycling 19000 MT plastic waste. The company has pledged to be net zero greenhouse gas by 2040 by setting up two more in-house solar plants at its manufacturing sites in Goa and Mandideep.
