Mumbai: Prime Video has promoted Padma Kasturirangan to the role of Head of South, India Originals. In her new position, she will oversee and drive the growth of the company’s Originals programming in the Tamil and Telugu markets, building on her previous role as Head of Telugu Originals, India Originals.
Sharing her excitement about the promotion on LinkedIn, Padma stated, “I am excited to share that I am stepping into the role of Head of South, India Originals, Prime Video. I joined Prime Video two years ago, and since then I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with some of the best creators to build an exciting Telugu slate. With a super thrilling line-up planned for the near future, I look forward to scaling up our Originals program in Tamil and Telugu, bringing bar-raising stories to engage and delight our audiences, in this expanded role. Nurturing new markets and building a diverse, wholesome content slate has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my journey at Prime Video. Before joining Prime Video, Padma gained extensive experience at several renowned companies, including ZEEL, Tamada Media, Annapurna International School of Film & Media, Lotus Exim International, and Ricki’s. She began her career as Assistant Manager at Ricki’s in 2006.
With a proven track record in leading teams and producing high-quality video content, Padma has successfully managed the creative, operational, and commercial aspects of content creation. She has played a pivotal role in conceptualizing and executing some of the most popular South Indian Originals on digital and OTT platforms, helping to shape the growing regional content landscape.
