The movies of reigning stars of South Indian cinema, Ajith’s ‘Thunivu’ directed by H Vinoth and Vijay’s ‘Varisu’ directed by Vamshi Paidipally, both released on January 11 for Pongal. This is happening after nine years, the last time their films were released on the same day was in 2014, Ajith’s ‘Veeram’ and Vijay’s ‘Jilla’.
Both the movies have created a huge buzz among the fans mounting their festive spirit.
Brand Oreo has joined the bandwagon with exciting contest for the fans with their limited edition #ThalaThalapathyOreoCookies. ‘Thala’ is the renowned title given to actor Ajith Kumar and ‘Thalapathy’ to actor Vijay.
Karthik Srinivasan, Communications Strategist, on his LinkedIn post applauded Mondelez stating their localization is far deeper than just changing their brand name on the face of the product. What they have been changed to is where the real localization lies!
Srinivasan also stated that he has not seen National brand like Mondelez localize their own products’ front to this extent as they have done in Tamil Nadu.
He further added, “To see a National/International brand like Oreo dig so deep into the star wars of Tamil cinema is a different level of localization! Also shows how important Tamil Nadu is as a market, for national brands!”
