Harappa, an online institution for behavioral, social and cognitive skilling, has announced the appointment of Nikhil Gumbhir as their new Chief Operations Officer. Nikhil will be leading the full spectrum of activities that the customer experience (ECX) team is currently conducting, besides the additional responsibility of managing the enterprise product and leading customer retention.
Nikhil, who has over a decade of experience in building teams and products, is Harappa’s first homegrown C-suite executive and has been successfully leading the biggest team at the company – ECX — and one that is pivotal to its success.
Having begun his career as a software engineer at Infosys, Nikhil went on to hold leadership positions in premier organizations such as Nspira Management Services, and Simplilearn and was an entrepreneur in creating learning experiences, before embarking on his journey with Harappa three years ago.
“Nikhil is our first homegrown CXO and it’s been wonderful to see how much he and Harappa have meant to each other over the past three years that he has been with us. His consistent pushback and steady critiques have personally pushed my thinking and his custodianship of our learners and clients is a genuine source of pride. On the enterprise side, we strive to continuously elevate learner and customer experience and on the consumer side we need to deploy the strengths and expertise we have already demonstrated for our enterprise and institutional cohorts and clients. To lead these collaborations and efficiencies, I am delighted that Nikhil will be expanding his mandate from his current role as head of ECX, to be our first Chief Operations Officer,” says Shreyasi Singh, Founder & CEO, Harappa.
Commenting on the new role, Nikhil said, “I share Harappa’s vision of building a digital-first institution that delivers innovative learning experiences. I’m obsessed with improving the quality and relevance of learning and have always believed that a product’s success is guided by three key principles — customer experience, learning innovation, and execution excellence. Essentially, I’m a ‘learning guy’. I’ve built my career using Thrive Skills at work and I love to experience different formats of online learning. So, this is my chance to use that passion along with those insights to build a great learning product. This role gives me the chance of using my passion and interest of product led growth to help scale the business.”
In his previous roles at Harappa, Nikhil has driven the company’s success as Vice President, Engagement & Customer Success, and Director, Business & Innovation.
