The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the official film promotion for the upcoming Men’s Cricket World Cup featuring its brand ambassador, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.
The film themed ‘It takes one day’ employs Khan’s voice over to capture all that happens on a cricket field and to fans off it, in just one day. The difference between making history and being history, says Khan, is one day, as back to back visuals of fans and players from different teams play out.
Players including Jhonty Rhodes and Mutthiah Muralidharan feature in the film alongside many more in match clippings. The excitement and revelry of fans is on full display followed by MS Dhoni’s winning strike to lift the World Cup in 2011, and those of Clive Lloyd and Kapil Dev lifting the coveted trophy.
The film ends with Khan on screen alongside the World Cup Trophy as he says, “This is the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. For everything ever dreamt for, wished for, lived for, it takes… one day.”
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will be played from October 5 to November 19, 2023. Sidney Star is the official broadcast partner.
