Mumbai: Although disrupting our everyday lives, COVID-19 has taught us to stop and appreciate all the things that we usually take for granted, like meeting our loved ones, and the freedom to do so, without any reservations.
A new video by Ola, starring Varun Thakur and Supriya Pilgaonkar, highlights the banter between a mother and son to show that despite the apprehension around the situation outside, citizens are assured a safe cab experience with Ola, echoing the brand’s safety promise.
Conceptualised by OML (Only Much Louder), the video starts with the protagonist teaching his not-so-tech-savvy mother the basics of video calling, a situation we are all familiar with. It goes on to narrate different everyday scenarios where the son finds himself asking his mother for help reiterating how mothers know best and how they always come up with an ideal solution for the most common challenges.
When the son falls unwell and is unable to make ‘Kadha’, the film captures the depth of a mother’s love when she lands up on his doorstep soon after to take care of him, while taking all precautions. The video ends with the mother answering all questions around her commute to dispel his concerns while showing him a video of her Ola ride that shows the safety standards and precautionary measures undertaken by Ola and the driver.
Building on its safety genesis, Ola redesigned its safety protocols to suit the new normal and has amped up all hygiene practices through its ‘5 layers of safety’* initiative, that is geared towards its drivers and customers.
