The president of TBWA\India, Nirmalya Sen, has left the agency to join Havas Worldwide India as CEO.
Sen calls time on not far off a decade with TBWA to join Havas Worldwide and will report to Juan Rocamora, chairman and CEO of Havas Worldwide Asia Pacific.
He comes in to replace Sushant Panda, who worked for Havas Worldwide India for seven years, the last three as CEO and managing partner, and left in March.
Sen’s arrival will not mean changes to the agency’s management committee, which is made up of chief creative officer and managing partner Satbir Singh, president, South and West Shavon Barua, CFO Sandeep Gupta, and chief strategy officer Sourav Ray. Anish Gupta is non-executive chairman.
Andrew Benett, global CEO of Havas Worldwide and Havas Creative Group, called Sen’s appointment a “timely and critical hire”.
“We are bolstering our position in this important market. Our clients will quickly benefit from the value Nirmalya’s leadership brings to the agency,” he said.
Sen said: “I am delighted and honoured to be entrusted with the care of the Havas Worldwide brand in India. Havas Worldwide’s proposition is unique: It combines the resources of a large, established global network with the innovative spirit of a young, new-age challenger brand. I’m very excited to work on growing and developing the agency’s presence in India.”
