New Delhi: Hero MotoCorp, a two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced key leadership changes, including the departure of Niranjan Gupta as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Vikram Kasbekar, Executive Director (Operations), has been appointed as the Acting CEO, effective May 1, 2025.
Gupta, who has been instrumental in strengthening the company’s financial resilience, global alliances, and long-term strategic roadmap, will step down on April 30, 2025, to pursue other opportunities.
To ensure a smooth transition, Vikram Kasbekar, a seasoned industry leader with extensive experience in Research & Development, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering, will take over as Acting CEO. Kasbekar has been with Hero MotoCorp for over two decades and is expected to guide the company through this period of transition until a permanent CEO is appointed.
Additionally, Hero MotoCorp has announced key leadership elevations as part of its strategy to empower internal talent and accelerate growth:
- Ram Kuppuswamy, currently Chief Procurement Officer, will assume the expanded role of Chief Operations Officer (COO) – Manufacturing, effective April 1, 2025. In his new capacity, he will oversee all plant operations and the quality function, ensuring world-class operational excellence.
- Ashutosh Varma, National Sales Head – India Business Unit (IBU), will be elevated to Chief Business Officer (CBO) – IBU, effective May 1, 2025. With over 15 years at Hero MotoCorp, Varma has been a key driver of business growth and will now lead IBU’s restructuring to accelerate expansion and market leadership. He will take over from Ranjivjit Singh, who will complete his tenure on April 30, 2025.
- Jyoti Singh, Head HR – R&D, will transition to the role of Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer, effective February 1, 2025. She will focus on strengthening Hero MotoCorp’s global employer brand, fostering diversity, collaboration, and continuous growth.
Further solidifying its commitment to the future of mobility, the company’s EV & Emerging Mobility Business Unit (EMBU) will become a fully independent and empowered entity, effective February 1, 2025. This move is aimed at driving the EV revolution and next-generation mobility under the mentorship of Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp.
