Nikhil Gulati has announced his resignation from Amazon after a rewarding three-year stint with the company. In his most recent role as Principal PR, Nikhil contributed significantly to the company’s communication strategies, building strong relationships with the media and playing a pivotal role in shaping Amazon’s public image in India.
In a heartfelt post on LinkedIn, Nikhil reflected on his journey with Amazon, expressing his gratitude for the experiences and opportunities the company provided. He shared, “Amazon was my 10-year plan. But life often has its twists. In 2021, a time of personal and professional turbulence, Amazon became the one change I needed. It was an oasis in a desert, offering me the distraction and stability I was searching for. I had planned to stay for a decade, or until Amazon decided to let me go—but then, life presented me with an offer I couldn’t refuse.”
Nikhil’s post went on to emphasize the depth of his connection to Amazon, describing the company as more than just a workplace: “Leaving Amazon was not an easy decision. It wasn’t just a job; it became a community. The lessons, the challenges, and the friendships I forged here will stay with me for life. The mentors and colleagues I worked with helped shape me, and I’m leaving with gratitude and memories that will guide me forward.”
Before his time at Amazon, Nikhil had a distinguished career across various roles in communication and journalism. He worked at Ford India in leadership positions from 2013 to 2021, and prior to that, served as Manager of Corporate Communication at Star India (2012-2013). His early career included stints as Staff Reporter at The Wall Street Journal (2009-2012) and Senior Correspondent at Financial Chronicle (2008-2009). Nikhil began his career in the corporate communications field at Jindal Stainless Steel in 2005.
Throughout his career, Nikhil has built expertise in news writing, strategic communication, reputation management, brand building, campaign execution, and crisis communication, making him a highly respected professional in the industry.
In his farewell message, Nikhil expressed his excitement about the next chapter in his professional journey while acknowledging the positive impact Amazon has had on his career. He concluded, “Thank you, Amazon. You were great. I look forward to staying in touch and cheering on your success in the future.”
Nikhil’s departure marks the end of an important chapter in his career at Amazon, but his legacy of contribution to Amazon’s communications strategy will continue to resonate.
