According to the BARC Data, Network18’s Hindi and English news channels News18 India and CNN-News18 continue dominance on viewership in their respective genres in viewership ratings chart.
In the Hindi general news segment, News18 India secured 15.9pc relative market share in the first week of the New Year and 15.8pc in the second week, as per data released by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC). (Market sharepc, 24 hrs, TG: 15+, HSM, Wk 50’22-Wk 02’23, All days).
News18 India now has a 20pc more market share than the second-ranked Aaj Tak, which could garner only 13.2pc relative market share in the two weeks, data showed.
In the English general news segment, CNN-News18 gained 1.8pc relative market share, retaining the top slot with 33.0pc relative market share in the first week and 34.7pc in the second week, comprehensively beating Republic TV, which trailed with 29.9pc and 27.8pc relative market share. News18 India also maintained its lead in the Prime Time (1800-2400 hrs) and 9pm slots, amassing 26pc and 14pc more market share, respectively, than Aaj Tak.
CNN-News18 was way ahead of its competitors in the Prime Time Core TG (1800-2300 hrs) slot with 32.9pc market share.
