News18 Assam & Northeast has organized Utkrisht 2021, The Assam Excellence Award, a well-curated award ceremony to recognize and celebrate certain individuals and organizations that went above and beyond in their efforts to make society a better place in this challenging time. On this occasion, the news organization felicitate certain individuals and groups. The occasion was graced by Chandra Mohan Patowary, Industry Minister in Government of Assam.
In his address, Patowary said “it gives me tremendous pleasure to give away the awards on behalf of the news organization.” The minister praised News18 Network for its efforts in identifying individuals and organizations from all walks of life for the award.
The bronze medalist from the Tokyo Olympics, Lovlina Borgohain was awarded “Sportsperson of the Year” at the event. Indian Oil Corporation (Assam Oil Division) has been honored for its excellent work in the Corporate Social Responsibility Program. Munindra Nath Ngatey, ACS, Director of Health Services (Family Welfare), Government of Assam, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the Covid care management. Punjabi Sabha is being honored by News18 as well. Punjabi Sabha, based in Guwahati, is one such organization whose members risked their lives to helping families impacted by the Covid-19 epidemic.
