Digital ‘reality’ hits New Generation Media with the need for consolidation. Market sources informed Medianews4u about an internal memo issued to the employees of New Generation Media by Sathyanarayanan which has cited the need for consolidation in the editorial teams across all divisions of PuthiyaThalaimurai.
“Since we began our journey the market realities too have changed — from being a pioneer in independent news television genre we now face a crowded market. In print, the magazines have come under increased pressure. Innovation and excellence are the only way out of this quagmire. While digital is the future we need to integrate smoothly the traditional and newer forms. Therefore we have decided to begin the exercise for integrating various operations in a phased manner.” wrote Sathyanarayanan in the internal communication.
Effective immediately Sathyanarayanan has announced that Srinivasan.S will take charge as Editorial Director and will lead the Editorial team of PT TV, PT Magazines, PT online and The Federal.
“I am sure with his experience in media combined with the experience of the current team can make a rejuvenated beginning.” wrote Sathyanarayanan.
In the internal communication, Sathyanarayanan wrote, “A number of editors, journalists, media professionals, managers, engineers, over the last ten years have contributed to the growth of this organization. We have grown from 50 to 450 employees.”
Continuing he wrote, “I feel the time is now ripe for consolidation. We should pull in our resources, integrate and take advantage of each other’s strengths.
All other Editorial Heads will now report into the newly appointed Editorial Director, Srinivasan.S. The editorial heads are as follows:
