New Delhi: Network18 Media and Investments Ltd, which has business interests in television, movies and online retailing, has designated A.P. Parigi, group chief executive officer, as adviser to chairman Adil Zainulbhai.
In an internal email to employees, Zainulbhai wrote, “Dear Colleague: I write to inform you that Mr A.P. Parigi will transition into a new role as my Advisor with effect from 1st October, 2015. Mr Parigi has strengthened our management team and helped stabilize the operations. This has put our company on a sound footing for future growth. I look forward to Mr Parigi’s continued support in his new role.”
Parigi could not be reached for a comment immediately. Parigi joined Network18 on 29 January, succeeding B. Sai Kumar, who held the position until May last year after a management overhaul at Network18 in which B Saikumar, Ajay Chacko, RDS Bawa and many other Network18 executives quit in 2014.
Last month, the media group controlled by billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Ltd appointed Rahul Joshi, editorial director of The Economic Times, as chief executive officer, news, and group editor-in-chief of Network 18.
Prior to this Parigi had been the Managing director and CEO of ENIL (Radio Mirchi), which he had taken to an IPO. He had also been MD and CEO of Eros Media International, as well as BPL Mobile Communications.
