Mumbai: National Geographic is set to premiere its pulse-pounding documentary, ‘The Devil’s Climb,’ on February 9th at 10 PM. The film follows legendary rock climbers Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell as they embark on a daring expedition to traverse the five spires of the Devil’s Thumb, a treacherous 9,000-foot peak in the Alaskan wilderness known for its extreme difficulty and unpredictable conditions.
Produced by Plimsoll Productions, ‘The Devil’s Climb’ chronicles the climbers’ journey across 2,600 miles by bicycle, sailboat, and foot through the American West, Canada, and Alaska. As Tommy Caldwell makes a remarkable return from a career-threatening Achilles injury, Alex Honnold joins him in one of the greatest challenges of their lives: attempting the first-ever single-day traverse of all five peaks of the Devil’s Thumb massif.
Directed by renowned climber and filmmaker Renan Ozturk, the documentary captures the climbers’ resilience, friendship, and sheer determination as they push their physical and mental limits. The film provides an unprecedented look into their bond and the rich history of adventurous speed climbing.
‘The Devil’s Climb’ is executive produced by James Smith, Martha Holmes, Alan Eyres, and Grant Mansfield for Plimsoll Productions. Other executive producers include Peter Mortimer, Jonathan Retseck, Alex Honnold, and Tommy Caldwell. The film is co-directed by Matt Pycroft, with Drew Pulley serving as edit director.
