L Murugan, Union Minister of state for Information and Broadcasting, will be participating in the Cannes Film Festival from 22nd May to 24th May to promote India as a destination for International Film shooting.
He will visit the India pavilion inaugurated by Union I&B minister, Anurag Thakur and will also participate in various events at the festival according to a government press release. The government had made an announcement for foreign filmmakers to make movies in India and offered incentives upto 2.5 crore for co-production and shooting by hiring local manpower.
The state minister will be meeting International Filmmakers from various countries attending the film festival and encourage them to visit India and take advantage of the incentives introduced by the Centre to shoot and co-produce films in the country.
