Mindshare has appointed a head of innovation for Asia Pacific for the first time, handing the role to James Lewin.
Lewin, like his colleague Kevin Rooney recently, takes on the role in addition to his job at fellow GroupM media agency M/six, where he is regional head of strategy.
His job will involve developing partnerships with tech firms to help identify what is described in a press release as “fixed and fluid cultural or brand energy moments” and driving Mindshare’s “adaptive marketing” philosophy.
Lewin will work alongside Mindshare’s other regional specialists, such as the heads of content, digital, strategy and clients leadership. He is also tasked to build a regional network of “local provocateurs” – innovation leads in each market.
Karl Cluck, Mindshare’s recently appointed APAC chief client officer, commented in the media release: “With his keen strategic insight, deeply creative mindset, strong technical understanding and breadth of experience in Asia — James really embodies the spirit of innovation at Mindshare. He’ll play a key and critical role in delivering communications planning and driving the partnerships that will bring our Adaptive Marketing proposition to life for our clients in this region. It’s really a delight to have him back in our network.”
