Hyderabad : The Telugu version of KBC – ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ second season started on 8th December on Maa TV has opened up with 8.2 TVR according to the ratings of week 50.
Both, the channel Maa TV and the Celebrity actor Nagarjuna, who runs the show sitting in the host seat are thrilled with the opening response as the show managed to maintain the ratings of previous season’s opening figures and hoping for the figures to improve from here on during the forthcoming episodes that includes lodes of celebrities participation in this season also.
The second season began on 8th December and it got off to a fantastic start with 8.2 TVR. The show was particularly popular among the female audience and the show amassed an impressive average of 10.1 TVR on Female Target Group, whereas among men, it got 6.98 TVR only.
Nagarjuna took to his Twitter handle to thank his audience saying, “#MEK opens with an incredible 8.2 trp / thanks my dear audience for this fantastic start:) (sic).”
Recently, In the fifth episode of the show, Debut Actor Varun Tej made his grand entry as a celebrity guest amidst good applause; however, no one could have guessed that he would goof up right in the beginning of the show.
The first question which Nagarjuna posed him was – ‘Which of the gods is called as Mukunda?’. When Varun Tej didn’t spot Sri Krishna’s name in the options, he took director, Sreekanth Addala’s help to answer the question. Finally, Varun’s father, Naga Babu, who was present at the show, quipped saying, “This is why you should have listened when I talk about Mahabharata and Ramayana.”
The entire conversation turned out to be a hilarious moment on the show and in the end, Nagarjuna wished Varun Tej good luck for his acting debut in ‘Mukunda’.
Other actor Nithin also appeared on the show and in the next few days, the quiz show will also see Pooja Hegde and Samantha on the hot seat.
The Malayalam version of the show titled ‘Ningalkkum akam Kodeeswaran” (NAK) hosted by Mollywood action star Suresh Gopi is commencing on 29th December onwards on Asianet and the format owner Siddartha Basu’s Big Synergy is producing the show.
