On 3rd December 2020, the owner of the famous Indian masala brand Mahashian Di Hatti Mr. Dharampal Gulati passed away at the age of 98. Mr. Gulati was going under treatment in Delhi hospital from last three weeks. He suffered cardiac arrest on Thursday and passed away at 5:30 AM.
Mr Gulati was one of the highest-earning CEO in the business sector. He was also been awarded with Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award in the country, in 2019.He was born in Sialkot, Pakistan, in 1923. However, he later moved to India following Partition. He stayed at a refugee camp in Amritsar before moving to Delhi. He made a humble beginning by opening a spice shop in Delhi’s Karol Bagh before building his empire. He established MDH in 1959.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed grief over Gulati’s death and said that he was an inspiring personality who dedicated his life to the welfare of society.
His deputy Manish Sisodia said, “India’s most inspiring entrepreneur, MDH owner Dharm Pal Mahashay passed away this morning. I have never met such an inspiring and lively soul. May his soul rest in peace.”
