Mumbai: Maruti Suzuki has re-appointed Hisashi Takeuchi as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for another three-year term. The decision was approved by the company’s Board of Directors in a meeting held on January 29, 2025, and has been officially communicated to the BSE. Takeuchi will assume the renewed role from April 1, 2025, and continue his tenure until March 31, 2028.
Hisashi Takeuchi, who has been associated with Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) since 1986, first took over as MD & CEO of Maruti Suzuki on April 1, 2022, succeeding Kenichi Ayukawa. Before his appointment as CEO, he had been serving on the Board of Maruti Suzuki since July 2019, and was promoted to Joint Managing Director (Commercial) in April 2021.
In addition to Takeuchi’s re-appointment, the Board has also recommended the re-appointment of Maheswar Sahu as an Independent Director for a further five-year term, from May 14, 2025, to May 13, 2030. This decision, however, is subject to approval by the company’s members.
