UK media veteran Rajan Singh has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lyca Media.
During his 4-year reign as Executive Vice President for Star TV, the brand enjoyed phenomenal success in the UK and the USA, becoming the first major broadcaster to get three of its channels on BARB. Prior to this, Rajan Singh was responsible for the development and growth of Sony Entertainment Television Asia in international markets.
Lyca Media recently launched radio stations Lyca Radio 1458 AM, Lyca Dilse 1035 AM, Time 106.6 FM and Time 107.5 FM. This compliments Lyca’s existing IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) marketed by Asia Media Global, a platform which is also growing in popularity, showing that the aggression in the company is ever growing. Lyca Media has proposed to launch a talk station called Lyca Voice in place of Sunrise Radio on 963 AM and 972 AM in Greater London.
Reporting to deputy chairman Prem Sivasamy, Singh will be tasked with driving the company’s global media business, identifying and developing growth opportunities for the burgeoning media portfolio which now spans television, radio and digital.
Lyca Media Chairman, Subaskaran Allirajah, said, “We are so pleased to bring Rajan on board. Not only does he have impressive credentials in all aspects of media but more importantly his drive matches our ambition to develop our global media business. The potential for TV media and IPTV around the world is huge and there is no better person equipped than Rajan Singh. We are delighted that he has joined our company at such an important time.”
Singh said, “I am thrilled to have a role that will be challenging and exciting not only in the UK but globally. I will be working for a company that has aggressive ambition and we will see their aspirations to be a global media brand in the near future.”
