Bangalore: Lenovo has appointed Bhaskar Choudhurias its new APAC CMO to head the marketing team in Asia Pacific.
He succeeds Nick Reynolds, who takes on the role of global head of marketing for digital, web and social media.
In his new role, Bhaskar reports to Ken Wong, president of Lenovo Asia Pacific. He will be based in Bangalore, India, tasked with expanding Lenovo’s brand footprint in the Asia Pacific region. This includes driving sales for PCs, tablets and smart devices across diverse markets covering Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Taiwan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to the move, Reynolds was tasked with driving significant improvement in Lenovo’s brand recognition in Asia Pacific for the last four years. He will now be focused on growing Lenovo’s digital and social media capabilities globally. This includes creating a strong infrastructure, building digital partnerships, and enhancing Lenovo’s website and social media platforms across its diverse business groups. He now reports to the company’s newly appointed global CMO Gina Qiao.
Prior to the appointment, Bhaskar led the marketing team in India for the last five years, where he was responsible for marketing strategy and aligning marketing to the overall business objectives.
Under Bhaskar’s leadership, the company successfully launched its smartphones in the India market, as well as many new initiatives in the digital marketing space. He also played a key role in making Lenovo’s Services a brand differentiator through multiple activations, which greatly improved customer perception of Lenovo’s service quality.
