Tell us about the inception of LegalKart… What is its vision and mission?
LegalKart’s vision is to create instant access to a Trusted &reliable Legal Advice & Legal support 24/7 for all the citizens across geographies with the help of our technology ecosystem.
Every challenge that we face is an opportunity and in my professional career with various corporations, I experienced serious challenges due to difficult access toa legal professional in different parts of the country and sometimes at international destinations too. That feeling when you know that there is an obvious gap in the sector inspired me to explore possible solutions. The only objective I had in my minds was to create a platform to provide instant access to a reliable legal advice which led to the inception of LegalKart.
Established in December 2018, LegalKart is a technology platform where people can instantly talk to verified lawyers to seek legal advice from the comfort of their homes. It’s an end to end solution for a lawyer to manage cases, documents, client fee and client management. A lawyer with LegalKart App can also connect with its existing clients and also accept new client assignments making it an ideal app to grow the legal practice. What’s more important is that the app provides the users to seek legal advice in their own language; providing an access to 8 languages i.e. Tamil, Telegu, Kanada, Malyalam, Bengali, Marathi, Hindi and English; anytime and anywhere.
What is the need/gaps that LegalKart fulfills for the market? Does it cater to only direct consumers or businesses can also use the services?
LegalKart is trying to fill the gap of instant legal advisory which is currently a part of complete legal procedure. It is an evolving legal technology which will accommodate lawyers individuals and businesses to connect and help them grow.
What has been your experience with LegalKart till now. What are some of the learnings you’d want to share?
We have learned that use of technology is very low in India and is required to be adopted at every level in the legal ecosystem. Use of practice management software by lawyers & law firms is yet to take off in India as compared to developed nations where 95% of all legal practitioners are using it. There is a huge opportunity in developing Artificial Intelligence based solutions to help the judiciary in their research work. We need a strong legal marketplace to standardize legal services & their corresponding costs.
We have also been able to serve the masses at this crucial time of lockdown, where people aren’t able to get the right legal support with our revolutionary feature ‘Talk Now’. This recently added private calling feature has paved a way for people to seek right legal advice 24*7, 365 days a year through a trusted legal advisor in their own language. Hence, supporting them to make an informed legal decision.
How are you marketing LegalKart? What have been some changes in the marketing strategies that you have adopted because of the Covid-19 pandemic?
We are planning to create awareness campaigns regarding legal technology across the country in partnership with District/State Bar Associations and Industry associations. We are moving to digital marketing campaigns for a much wider reach across the country.
How do you leverage technology for the legal business?
We are building technology products for lawyers and individuals. On one hand when Lawyers can manage their end to end legal practice on our Legalkart app; individuals can connect & seek a neutral legal advice with the help of our 24/7 instant legal consultation. LegalKart is leveraging technology to build an end to end ecosystem where professionals & users are interacting conveniently.
What is the sort of cases have you seen during the lockdown?
In Indian context, we have witnessed almost all kinds of cases coming but as per data, the most sort of cases which we have witnessed during this lockdown is related to divorces, domestic abuse and other matrimonial matters.
