Kolkata: Kolkata-based legal-tech startup, Legal Salah on Monday announced to have raised $1 million seed funding led by I2ICapitals, a family fund that comprises of angel investors.
With an aim to share legal and tax-related solutions just at the tip of a button, Legal Salah is first-of-its-kind platform where one can seek legal and tax related advice, services and assistance in no time. The core team comprises of CEO Subhash Jha, CFO Abhinit Kumar Singh, COO Sujit Jha and CPO Tausif Warsi.

Set up in 2016, Legal Salah shares a striking business model and bouquet of services that works on zero consultation and advisory fee. This start-up has made a brilliant impression amongst the target audience and is picking up the momentum in relevant business circles through its unique value proposition. The start-up aims at democratizing a common man’s access to the lawyer fraternity across several cities.
“We all need legal and tax related advice constantly. This platform enables everyone to seek support without any consultation cost and understand the way forward, that too from the best experts in the industry. It is indeed unique, honest and transparent to everyone,” says Subhash Jha, Co-Founder and CEO.

Legal Salah plans to use the funding to build technological base, support product development and fuel market expansion in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Gurgaon, Chennai and Tier 2 cities besides exploring international markets with Dubai.
“We will leverage fund in creating AI and ML enabled GST software which will speed up the GST filing process to under 5 minutes. In addition, we also plan to introduce our own accounting software for the existing clients”, shares Jha.
With presence currently in Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi and Patna, Legal Salah is planning to increase the workforce and add more services in their list in near future. They are close to launch first-ever legal and tax services subscription-based model for start-ups too.
“Subscription model for start-ups will soon be introduced at Legal Salah which will completely change the industry picture for good. This model will be cheaper, better and reliable for everyone and in the longer run will keep ones legal and tax-related sanity in place,” explains a smiling Subhash.
A pro-startup and SME company, Legal Salah also mentors, helps and coach various start-ups at zero cost. “I believe it is our calling. The startup is set to create a dent in the legal-tech industry by leveraging technology to provide most affordable and simple solutions to everyone, under one roof.
