Amrita TV, the once trend setter in mini screen, has now made a come back with the grand celebrity show ‘Lal Salam’, featuring the complete actor Padma Shri Mohan Lal.
This is the first time the heartthrob of film lovers is appearing on mini screen to present his own show. The programme telecast on a majestic set has gone viral among the visual crowd and has become a discussion on all social media platforms, with the telecast of just two episodes.
Lalettan’s fans who came on the two episodes that were telecast did touch the hearts of audience-be it the talented Kanmani or Aneesh, whose life moves forward due to his hero worship for Lal. In both of them, the viewers saw how they came up in life despite hurdles in life.
Through ‘Lal Salam’, we are taken to ‘Lalettan’s’ world. We meet those who had been with him all these days, friends, well-wishers and colleagues in a single platform and discuss all the stages, pain and fun they had passed through.
Telecast on Fridays and Saturdays, from 8 p.m. , through the grandiose programme ‘Lal Salaam’ Mohanlal thanks everyone who has made a positive impact in his life, be it through cinema, social responsibility, art, literature, as a friend or as a colleague.
The show is divided into various parts. It begins with Lal’s interaction with an eminent personality. The launch episode saw a friendly chat with actress-cum-dancer ManjuWarrier. The next episode had actor ManiyanPillaiRaju, who had produced the all-time hit ‘Aye Auto’. Raju had lots to tell about Lal from his childhood days in Model School.
The second segment is the discussion of a milestone film of ‘Lalettan’. Here, rare moments during the shoot of the film will be revealed. It will include outdoor moments, which will help the viewers learn more about their favourite actor.
In another dream come true segment, a special Mohanlal fan will get to meet their favourite star. It might be celebrity fans, kids, a senior citizen or someone who needs physical support.
A star segment is the social service one in which either a person who has excelled in social service, but not known to many, will be honoured or else a man in uniform (Police personnel, Fire and Security Services, Civil Services), Scientists would be brought to the forefront. In the first episode, the channel brought forward social activist Jolly Johnson and in the second, a group of auto drivers in the capital city who has set an example by giving free rides to needy people to visit Government hospitals in Trivandrum and the RCC.
Actress turned RJ MeeraNandan makes a comeback to the mini screen through this mega show. Stephen Devassy, the vibrant musician, addsvigour to the show, along with popular violinist Francis.
The launch episode on August 18 discussed the popular Lal film ‘AaramThampuran’. Director ShriShaji Kailas, Producer Shri Suresh Kumar, actor Shri T P Madhavan, actress ManjuWarrier, +singer Smt K S Chitra who had associated with Lal on this film and many others threw light on the various interesting moments with Lal.
Social activist Jolly Johnson and Lal fan, the talented Kanmaniwelled up eyes with tears. National Film Award Winning Actress Surabhi Lakshmi, child actress Little AksharaKishor and Baby Meenakshi shared their experiences of working with their all-time favourite ‘Lalettan’ and also their ambitions in life.

The second episode had actors ManiyanPillaiRaju, Asokan, Kunjan and actress Rekha who had brought ‘Aey Auto’ to fame along with Lal with the character Meenutty. Each one had a story to tell about how working with Lal was special and also how they could associate with the great actor.
The coming episodes will see standup comedian Ramesh Pisharody, actors Innocent, Jayasoorya opening their minds out with Lalettan. Lal’s hit films like ‘Keerthi Chakra’ will be a part of discussion.
