Kuku FM, an audio platform in India, has secured the audiobook rights to Fawaz Jaleel’s novel “Nobody Likes An Outsider” in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam.
Acquiring new languages expands the audience reach beyond tier-1 and tier-2 cities to local Indian regions. Audible previously acquired rights to the English audio version of this political thriller novel. The audiobook is available both in India and globally, and will soon be made into a Bollywood movie for a cinematic release.
“Nobody’s Likes An Outsider” by Fawaz Jaleel, the first in the Yohan Tytler series, received acclaim and topped bestseller lists, prompting a regional language expansion and the release of the second book, “Insiders versus Outsiders,” in February.
Fawaz Jaleel, one of the top Indian thriller authors, said, “I am elated to witness and contribute to this transformative journey, as this association comes at a time when India’s audiobook industry is seeing high traction and is at a pivotal juncture. The change afoot in the Indian content consumption space reflects the fast-paced lifestyle and inclination of Indian consumers towards consuming audio content, making audiobooks a mainstream choice for on-the-go readers”.
Through a key partnership with a leading Indian audio platform, the book will be available in three Indian languages, catering to audiences who prefer native languages. This expansion aims to reach more listeners in vernacular languages across India.
Nobody Likes An Outsider is a murder mystery blending fiction and non-fiction, delving into the investigation of a prominent politician’s murder linked to India’s history.
