Mumbai : Kross Pictures India has appointed Chhitra Subramaniam as Senior Vice President, Creative and Production. Chhitra will focus on developing and producing Kross’s Korean & Japanese slate of Feature films and OTT series adaptations in Hindi. She will report to Thomas Kim, President & CEO of Kross Pictures.
Founded in 2003 in Los Angeles, Kross Pictures is a cross-border film and television production company with offices in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Mumbai. Thomas Kim, a former investment banker at Goldman Sachs and an executive at Walt Disney headquarters, has built Kross Pictures with the belief that compelling stories can work anywhere in the world, and based on this belief, Kross has strived to identify and acquire proven intellectual property to create localized films and series for their respective markets. Its first Chinese production, <The Devotion of Suspect X> (2017), became a mega hit with a global box office revenue of INR 410 Cr.
In India, Kross produced with Sujoy Ghosh in 2016 Te3n starring Amitabh Bachchan and currently has 15 feature and OTT projects which are all based on proven IPs. In addition, Kross has now forayed into South language cinema with its first Telugu language film with Suresh Productions, Guru Films &People Media Factory starring Samantha Prabhu, directed by Nandini Reddy which is in post production and will release mid this year.
Chhitra will work towards driving a strong content-led value proposition for collaborators and the audience. She joins Kross with more than 18 years of rich and diverse experience in production and creative. In her long and successful career, she has held leadership roles with various media companies, including Wiz Film, Turner International, Studio18/Viacom 18, Percept Picture Company.
