Mumbai: Romedy NOW, the leading English GEC which is always looking to break clichés and attempt the path-breaking, is innovating yet again, this time on cross-promotions. The channel, from the Times Network, has partnered with the upcoming Bollywood film Ki & Ka to run a festival dedicated to the film on the channel, and Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor have appeared in a promo shot to jointly promote Romedy NOW and their upcoming film in a festival called ‘Two to Tango’.
Romedy NOW will air movies including Two Weeks Notice, Daddy Day Care, Julie & Julia and Miss Congeniality in the ‘Two to Tango’ festival.
The promo, which has just broken on the channel, witnesses Kareena talk about how it’s completely fine for women to work and Arjun talk about how it’s completely cool if men cook. The duo is seen promoting the ‘un-conventional’ routine belief of the society.
Speaking about the tie-up with Romedy NOW, Kareena Kapoor said, “I am a softie, a romantic person at heart, and I love to watch rom-coms. Our film, Ki & Ka is about and for bright, young and open minds, and so is Romedy Now. The channel plays my kind of movies and that’s why I’m glad we’ve partnered with them for the movie.”
Arjun Kapoor added, “I know and understand that rom-coms are associated more with women, but what many people don’t know is that we men also like watching such movies once in a while. In Ka & Ki too, I’m breaking male stereotypes, doing things that somehow are most often associated with women. My sisters too are huge fans of Romedy NOW. Ki & Ka is a great movie and I am happy to be promoting it on Romedy NOW.”
Ki & Ka is a love story between two people with contrasting ideologies. A man who wants to build a home and woman who wants to build her career. It’s a film that breaks gender stereotypes with humor. And that’s the central idea of the promo.
