J.Walter Thompson Singapore’s Peter Womersley has departed from the agency. The move follows the recent departure of Nanda Ivens, APAC Mirum CEO.
According to an internal memo, newly appointed Southeast Asia CEO Jaccoter Schegget will take on Womersley’s responsibilities for the Singapore market. This is in additional to his remit with Mirum. He will also be based in Singapore and start his role in September.
Womersley first took on the role in 2015, replacing Frank Bauer, who went on to support the agency’s global growth team.
Womersley’s career with the agency spans 14 years in both London and New York. He is a seasoned JWT veteran. He joined the Singapore office from JWT London, where he held the roles of global business director for Shell Lubricants; global business director for Hilti.He also served as WPP Team Army Director, managing WPP’s provision of all marketing requirements for the British Army.
Schegget was most recently as OgilvyOne China’s president, where he oversaw both OgilvyOne and Neo operations. He has over 16 years’ experience in digital marketing and transformation and joined OgilvyOne China as president in 2014 and was part of the Ogilvy Group China Leadership team. Prior to that role, he served as Europe president of Tribal Worldwide and co-CEO of DDB and Tribal Amsterdam.
Going forward, Schegget and the managing directors of Mirum in North Asia will report directly to John Gutteridge, JWT’s Asia Pacific CEO.
