Mumbai : Kartikeya Sharma, the managing director of news broadcast company iTV Network is all set to launch Pro-Wrestling League in India.
Pro Wrestling League will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Pro Sportify, a venture to be started by Sharma, who is the MD of Piccadily Hotels, where former Congress MP and his father Venod Sharma is a promoter.
Pro Sportify will compete with Mashal Sports, which conducts Pro-Kabbadi League (PKL). Mashal Sports is promoted by Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, sports commentator Charu Sharma and Law firm Luthra & Luthra founder Rajiv Luthra.
“Our approach to uplift and transform sports will be thoroughly professional. But there will be no compromises with the basics and essence of the sports. This philosophy will also reflect in our venture,” said Sharma, who will partner with Noida-based SportySolutionz for the wrestling league.
Ashish Chadha, promoter of Sporty Solutionz and another stakeholder in Pro Wrestling League, added here, “Professionalism in any industry does not mean minting money. It’s about creating more opportunities for each constituent of that particular industry. That is what we are going to do in Pro Sportify. Betterment of sportspersons, more opportunities and positive gains to our associates and more excitement, fun and sporting innovations for the fans will be a continuous process in Pro Sportify.”
Pro Sportify will announce its first venture – Pro Wrestling League – soon.
