iTV Network presented the Friends Of Mumbai Inaugural Awards at iTV News Centre, INS Towers, Wing B at BKC, Mumbai. Shri Eknath Shinde, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome by Shri Kartikeya Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP & Founder of iTV Network.
Chief Minister Shinde inaugurated the iTV Network’s Mumbai News Centre, and launched the Mumbai Edition of The Sunday Guardian. Shri Eknath Shinde also facilitated more than 30 trailblazers for their crucial contribution to enriching the cosmopolitan culture of Mumbai.
Chief Minister Shinde said, “The Friends of Mumbai Award appreciates people who serve Mumbai across different spheres of life. Those who believe that it is their responsibility to serve the city, and the state that they reside in, are being recognised and honoured.”
Shri Eknath Shinde emphasised, “Mumbai is an international city and an economic hub, and this is a great initiative as it will generate employment opportunities.” He further hailed the iTV Network’s endeavour to open a Media School that will train 800 young journalists.
Among those who were recognised for their exemplary contribution were Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mumbai Festival Advisory Committee, Hemant Oberoi, Founder & CEO of OB Hospitality, Anu Malik, Music Composer & Singer, Puneet Chhatwal, MD & CEO of Indian Hotels Company Ltd, and Sabbas Joseph, Founding Director of Wizcraft Group.
From Dabbawalas and Doctors, to Lawyers and Chefs, this event was a tribute to the ‘Mumbaikar’ that transforms the lives of fellow city residents.
