New Delhi : In a step to honor and recognize the contributions of those front-runners and acknowledge the excellence of medical marvels who did tremendous work for the growth of India’s healthcare sector, iTV Network, India’s leading news & infotainment network organized the NewsX Health Awards on 28th December, 2018 at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Shri. J P Nadda, felicitated some extraordinary medical professionals with NewsX Health Awards. The award selection was carefully screened and selected by an esteemed panel comprising members of the editorial board at iTV Network.
In an exclusive one-one-one interaction between Hon’ble Union Minister, Shri. J P Naddawith Mr. Kartikeya Sharma, Founder and Promoter, iTV Network and Mr. Rishabh Gulati, Managing Editor, NewsX, Shri. Nadda said “Ayushman Bharat programme will cater 55 crore people of our country, we want more and more people should avail the benefits of the scheme.”He further added that “Our government is more concerned about the health of poor section of our society and we are taking new initiatives From time to time.”
The NewsX Health Awards kicked offwith an interesting panel discussion on Modi Care, Ayushman Bharat which was led by Hon’ble panelists including: Dr. Arun Gupta, Executive Director, Ayushman Bharat; Dr. Mohsin Wali, Senior Consultant, Medicine, Sir Gangaram Hospital and Dr. Rajeev Sood, HOD & Dean- Urology, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The session concluded with the discussion on the government’s implemented Ayushman Bharat scheme, where Dr. Gupta said that “These are the early days of the scheme and we need to create more awareness.”Dr. Sood added that “It is important that health should be on priority of the government and this scheme is the best example.” Further, Dr Wali added that “It is a game changer scheme by the government.”
The next sessionwas on Path Breaking Medical Technologywhich was led by Hon’ble panelists including:Dr. ZS Meherwal, Director, Cardiac Surgeon, Fortis;Dr. Abhideep Choudhary, Gastroenterologist & Surgeon, Jaypee hospital; Dr. Kanav Anand, Child Nephrologist, Sir Gangaram Hospital andDr. Manjesh Rathi, Senior Consultant – Neurology, DMR institute of Neurosciences, Moradabad. During the session, Dr. Meherwal said“The serious problem of cardiac failure has been increasing within the age group of children of 5 – 15 years, not only in India by in other parts of the world.” The session also touched upon the artificial intelligence and robotic surgery in medical science, where the doctors mentioned, how robotic surgery can be conducted From any location and the robotic arms can easily be controlled by any expert surgeons through a console.
In the next session, the panelists discussed about the serious problem of Air Pollution which was led by- Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS and Dr. Deepak Singhla, MD, Maharaja Agrasen Hospital and Mr. KD Sahni, Joint Managing Director, Elofic industries, during the session, Dr. Guleria said “We need to explore more options to generate energy and also alternative ways to dispose garbage as many people in the country every day burn garbage which create pollution.” The panel also discussed on various steps to curb air pollution.
