Hiring in sync with Ipsos’ positioning of domain expertise and client centricity
New Delhi : Ipsos in India has announced the appointment of Dr. Srikant Patel and Dr. RB Gupta for Ipsos Public Affairs – social research and opinion polling division of Ipsos.
Designated Executive Director, Dr. Patel will be spearheading the Social Research business and will report to Parijat Chakrabortay, Country Service Lines Group Leader, Public Affairs, Corporate Reputation and Customer Experience, for Ipsos in India.
Dr. Patel, in his career spanning two decades has worked extensively in the Development Sector with government departments, UN bodies, international bodies, international and Indian Non-government organizations and is credited with managing large scale intervention studies, assessment projects, baseline and end-line studies.
An alumnus of Sambalpur university, Dr. Patel is an M.Phil and PhD in Social Anthropology. He has studied many indigenous people and has spent years with them in their environs, in remote and inaccessible regionsquiet a few national and international conferences. And has many published papers to his credit in Indian and international journals. Further, Dr. Patel is a member of various institutions like the IUAES Commission on Children, Youth and Childhood, Institute of Social Research and Applied Anthropology (ISRAA) and International Union of Anthropological & Ethnological Sciences (IUAES).

Dr. RB Gupta on the other hand, is an industry veteran with work experience spanning over four decades. He has donned many hats: of an academician (in IIPS Mumbai and IIHMR Jaipur), development sector professional (in SIFSPA and Population Council), business leader (in ORG MARG and GfK) and author. He was driving the Social Research business for GfK in India, before the worldwide acquisition by Ipsos. He will also report to Chakraborty and will be designated Executive Director.
Dr. Gupta has worked extensively in strategy and policy formulation, planning, coordinating, designing, monitoring and evaluation of projects in the development sector. He has also advised clients in the areas of Health and Family Planning, Reproductive and Child health, STD/ HIV, AIDS, HMIES and demography for various intervention studies. He has also worked on government projects in Public Health and Nutrition. Additionally, he has worked with the UNICEF, USAID, WHO, ICMR, IIHMR, government organizations like CARE India, state level programs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
