The Gross Gaming Revenue of Fantasy Sports during IPL 2023 is expected to grow by ~30-35pc to reach INR 2900-3100 Cr in 2023 from INR 2260 in 2022, reveals report from Redseer. However, this is less than the 55pc increase in growth of Gross Gaming Revenue in 2022 from 2021.
The report stated that the awareness about fantasy gaming platforms is rapidly increasing with more platforms offering easy access to the game type. The report further suggested that steep growth in casual gaming users will also offer a boost to the IPL Economy as during IPL many casual gaming users migrate to Fantasy platforms.
Transacting users on the rise
Transacting users during IPL season is expected to grow by 25-30% in 2023, with nearly 60-65pc of users coming from Tier-2 cities and beyond.
In 2022, Tier2 users (50pc) made the most number of transactions followed by Tier 3+ (31pc), Tier 1 (11pc) and Metro (8pc).
Average spend per user:
As per the report, the average spends per user are expected to grow by 5-10% from ~ INR 410 per user in IPL 2022 to ~ INR 440 per user IPL 2023. There has been an increase in efforts to make platforms more secure and reliable for the users. Measures like RNG Certification, Secure payment gateways, Fraud Security, etc. increase the users’ trust in the platforms.
