Mumbai: Disney Star the official television broadcaster of TATA IPL 2023, has claimed a 47 pc growth in viewing time with 8.7 billion minutes of consumption on TV (TG: BARC, 2+ Urban+Rural) for the opening match in comparison to last year. The match reach has also grown by 19 pc.
According to statement issued by Star Spots, 140 million viewers tuned in for the live broadcast on opening day, which included the Opening Ceremony with 130 million watching the first match involving Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings.

Earlier Star Sports also claimed that over 200 million* viewers watched the build-up programming for TATA IPL 2023 even before the tournament began on Friday, which is testament to Star Sports’ commitment to widen the coverage of the tournament beyond the live broadcast.
