The third edition of DH Bengaluru 2040 is here, India’s most influential thought leaders come together for a series of idea exchanges that will set Bengaluru up for its date with the future. On February 17, at the ITC Gardenia on Residency Road, Deccan Herald’s show-piece annual summit will host Bengaluru’s key stakeholders, including policymakers, bureaucrats, corporate heads, academics, artists and sportspersons, in discussions aimed at developing a blueprint for the city in 2040.
This is a concerted effort at transformative change for the city we love, an exercise aligned in spirit with the Deccan Herald tagline – The Power of Good.
The questions will set the agenda for an evolving Bengaluru, a city at once rooted and global – How do we keep it sustainable while balancing its public interests with its growth as a commercial centre? What could push it toward pre-eminence as a sporting powerhouse? Can we build a higher education ecosystem that attracts global talent and investment?
“DH Bengaluru 2040 has made a name for itself as a platform for ideas. This third edition is packed with interesting themes and the best speakers in the business, and we are looking forward to stimulating conversations,” said Sitaraman Shankar, CEO of the Printers (Mysore) and Editor of Deccan Herald.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will set the tone by addressing the promises and pitfalls of a Bengaluru on fast-forward mode. Sessions themed around multiple disciplines – from climate action to Tai Chi, from finance to future food – will capture the Bengaluru ethos in all its verve and diversity.
The talking points and takeaways from DH Bengaluru 2040 will find extensive coverage on Deccan Herald’s print and digital platforms and in video interviews with select speakers and panelists. With the Bengalurean invested in the future of his/her home at its centre, the summit – like in its two previous editions – will be an exciting citizen-connect platform for sponsors and partner brands.
